På avstand. Hovering between an uneasy, open-ended drama and a broad overview of a very real place, the photographs in På avstand present cinematic scenes of an ordinary Norwegian suburbia. The backdrop of farmland and sea is recognisable to most, as is the architecture and activity. This is a seemingly uneventful place. Yet, watching from a distance, a gradual sense of apprehension emanates from the landscape and the question remains, it is the place it self or the act of observation…
